Authority site
– Those sites that offer information as the biggest reason for people to come and visit them.
Bounce rate
– This is the percentage of people who come to your site and leave soon after without going to any other page or taking any action.
CTR
– The shorter and easier way to say click through rate. For when you are in a hurry.
Click through rate
– The percentage measurement of how many times your ad is clicked on compared to how many times it is shown. For example if it comes up one hundred times and it is clicked on ninety five times, your click through rate is ninety five percent. (you wish)
Click
– When someone moves their mouse so the cursor is on your ad and then ‘Clicks’.
Client
– Someone under our protection.
Conversion
– When a visitor does what it is you want them to do on your site like buy something or send you an enquiry.
Engagement or conversion strategy/call to action
– Ways to interact with your visitor like tools or calculators. Something that involves them doing something else besides just reading.
Google page rank
– Every page is ranked out of ten for importance by Google. The higher the better but they are pretty harsh critics. Only Google itself get 10/10 – If you don’t know how to find this out ring us up and talk to us and we will tell you how.
Impression
– Every time Google shows your ad, this is called an impression.
Keyword/ keyphrase
– The word or words people enter into Google before the press search.
Link building
– Giving others a reason to put a link from their website to yours. This not only gets you more direct visitors from their sites but also boosts your google ranking.
Organic/natural/free/left
– The side of Google where you do not pay per click.

Search Engine
– Website like Google, Bing, Yahoo and even MSN.
SEO
– a short way to say or write search engine optimisation
Sponsored link/Adwords/pay per click
– the parts of Google where you pay every time someone clicks on your ad.
Traffic
– Same as visitors. How much traffic do you get? How many visitors do you get?
Tracking/measurement
– The process to see what your visitors are doing on your site and how effective your site is. How much profit are you making from it.
Quality score
– How good Google thinks your Google Adwords campaign is?
Visitor
– Someone who comes to your website that we can turn into customers. Like at the moment, you are our visitor 🙂
